I am looking forward to travel this fall. Later this month we are heading to New York City to see the Broadway show “Hamilton” and to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the permanent collection as well as the John Singer Sargent Exhibition. We are topping it all off with a baseball game at Yankee Stadium before heading home. I started to think about my role as “audience” and the opportunity to be part of an audience in three different forms.
“Practice any art, music, singing, dancing, acting drawing painting, sculpting, poetry, fiction, essays, reportage, no matter how well or badly, not to get money or fame, but to experience becoming, to find out what’s inside you, to make your soul grow.”
I like this quote from Kurt Vonnegut. I wish all schools had this hanging in the school board meeting rooms.
How many kids get steered away from arts classes in schools because of the perception that study of the arts leads to a dead-end street?
Working today to finalize website. I hope that you all take a look at Artscape
For the Artist at the Start of Day

Your mind quickening to the eros of a new question,
Your eyes seduced by some unintended glimpse
That cut right through the surface to a source.
May this be a morning of innocent beginning,
